SITE TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT!

included with
your Awards event ticket

Starting at one of Brisbane’s 'most iconic pubs', The Ship Inn in Sidon Street South, you'll tour South Bank, Melbourne Street, West Village and Fish Lane, ending in Town Square for the 'Making Spaces Matter' panel discussion and networking event. There, Queensland Place Leaders will unpack the projects, experiences, and highlights of how each individually and collectively contributed to Fish Lane and Brisbane's South Side.

You'll then join your colleagues from the Asia-Pacific region at a fantastic in-person evening gathering of the place network at the State Library of Queensland for the Place Leaders Asia Pacific Awards, celebrating innovation and excellence in the place across projects, processes, leadership, governance, and digital place-making.

On Friday, you’ll board a CityCat Ferry at South Bank terminal and travel through the Brisbane CBD seeing the decades long process of rediscovering the City’s river interface including urban renewal and place-making at Howard Smith Wharves. Then, downstream to New Farm Park and the Powerhouse, with a guided tour from subject matter experts each way. You'll visit the renewal of a power station previously in disrepair for 35 years and now a hub of activity for performing arts, restaurants, and a farmer's market. Continuing downstream, you'll visit Northshore, a large urban development by Economic Development Queensland with representatives to discuss this new community, and site of the Olympic Village.

These wonderful tours and activities are thanks to our event partner, Brisbane City Council
