The Urban Land Development Authority (ULDA) is an independent statutory body established by the Queensland Government in late 2007 in response to the growing inability for many Queenslanders to afford their own home.

The ULDA was created to help make housing more affordable in high growth areas across the State by addressing issues which impact on housing affordability over which government has some control, including freeing up key urban land parcels, streamlining development assessment and approval and keeping infrastructure costs down.

The ULDA is working in partnership with the public and private sector to address housing affordability as well as housing diversity, sustainability, commerciality and best-practice design.
